Living in Zambia makes blogging a challenge. It can prove particularly challenging when you call home anywhere outside of Lusaka or the Copperbelt. I still stand by that, but I’ve come to a whole new category of challenging. Blogging without a computer or a functioning smart phone.
That’s right. The struggle is real.
I don’t think I’ve posted a blog in over a month, or maybe even two! And for that my dear readers, I am sorry. I feel like I’ve dropped the ball, but I just couldn’t overcome the inconvenience. I couldn’t make my way to an internet cafe. And I couldn’t bear to type on my unnamed “smart” phone. And so I didn’t.
But I did live in the moment. And I did drink in all that life had to offer. Even if I didn’t post it online…well at least not yet! I had a wonderful two months of using pen and ink to record my adventures. And to be honest, I think it was good. It made me live in the moment. It made me take some time to reflect. And it certainly reminded me the importance of finding balance even if you are trying to blog about it.
The good news is I learned something about lifestyle blogging even if the actual blogging part lulled a little. The really good news is I decided I wanted to invest in making it a little easier to actually commit to blogging. So, I took a deep breath and let my creative side embrace the Treat Yo Self Lifestyle—I bought a Mac.
That’s right, I now look the part of an up and coming blogger. Living into “Fake it ’til you make it,” I am ready to play the part. Blogging you’re back on and seriously, I can’t wait. Let the adventures continue!
